Registration of a company in the Bahamas

bagamy_0.jpgThe Bahamas is disseminated on the islands of the same name, which are washed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The official name is the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. The state has the status of independent one, and it consists of about 700 islands (approximately 40 of them are inhabited). In addition, over 2,000 reefs are also parts of the Bahamas.

The area of the state is approximately 13,900 km2, while the total area of the archipelago is more than 250,000 km2. Among the largest islands there are Andros, Grand Bahama, Great Inagua, Great Abaco, New Providence (the capital of the state (Nassau) is located there), Long Island, San Salvador and others.

Only a bit more than 309 thousand inhabitants reside in the territory of the islands. British people, Canadians, and natives of the United States are in the minority there. The Queen of Great Britain is the nominal head of state, but in fact the islands are governed by the governor-general appointed by the Queen.

The surface of the Bahamas is mostly flat with prevailing karst forms of relief. The peak with the height of 63 m is situated on the Cat island.

With considerably small number of rivers on the islands, there is large number of salt lakes having outlet to the sea.

The climate of the Bahamas is tropical and subtropical. The main influence on the temperature regime of the western regions is exerted by the warm current of the Gulf Stream, and of the southeast - by equatorial winds. In summer, the average temperature reaches + 32C and above, in winter - rarely falls below + 15C. The trade winds constantly prevailing on the islands make it easier to endure the summer heat.
