Wing Lung Bank, founded in 1933, is one of the oldest local bank in Hong Kong. The bank has 51 offices in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Macau and abroad. The total number of employees is more than 1,700 people. As of December 31, 2013, the aggregate amount of assets of the bank amounted to HK $ 217.2 billion. In 2008, Wing Lung Bank became a member of the China Merchants Bank Group and a subsidiary with 100% participation in 2009. China Merchants Bank is the sixth Commercial Bank of China regarding the amount of assets and is included in 100 largest banks in the world.
