The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) intends to pay increased attention to the regulation of cryptocurrencies. In a report published on January 8, 2020, SEC representatives note that in 2019, great progress in this area has already been achieved. However, the regulation of the crypto industry in the United States still remains quite low.

The Commission will continue to search and verify companies specializing in cryptocurrencies, as well as providing consulting services in this field. SEC experts acknowledge that there are many violations in the crypto industry, therefore, additional measures are necessary to regulate and control the industry.

SEC also named financial technology (fintech) and finance innovation priorities. Also, the US Securities and Exchange Commission intends to pay special attention to the field of electronic investment advice (companies working with robot advisers).
